FG Starts Disbursement Of ₦60,000 SPW Stipends

The Nigerian government has initiated the distribution of ₦7.3 billion to the remaining 774,000 Special Public Works (SPW) Programme beneficiaries. Over the past two weeks, individuals have received bank credit alerts confirming this disbursement.

Ministry’s Assurance and Commitment

During a recent budget defence session organized by the Senate Committee on Labour and Employment for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Abuja, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, affirmed that the payment would be expedited.

He acknowledged previous delays attributed to banking challenges but assured that the government is actively working to resolve these issues by year-end. Keyamo reiterated the ministry’s dedication to ensuring the prompt distribution of funds.

Program Overview and Benefits

Launched in 2019, the Special Public Works Programme aims to provide beneficiaries with a monthly stipend of ₦20,000 for a duration of three months.
