Summary
The Department of Human Genetics at the University of Michigan Medical School seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We encourage applications from candidates with research interests in any area of genetics and/or genomics. Recruited faculty will join a highly collaborative community of investigators who employ classical and modern approaches to address cutting-edge mechanistic and applied questions in genetics and genomics. The Department of Human Genetics was established in 1956 by James V. Neel and is recognized as the first department in the USA dedicated to human genetics research. The Department is well integrated with other basic science and clinical departments and institutes in the Medical School, the School of Public Health, and the College of Literature, Science, & the Arts. The undergraduate and medical school campuses are located in Ann Arbor, which is frequently ranked as one of the best cities to live in the United States.
Candidates with a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree with a demonstrated record of exceptional research contributions should submit a curriculum vitae, a three-page statement that briefly summarizes past research accomplishments and emphasizes future research plans, three letters of recommendation, and statements outlining the applicant’s teaching philosophy and commitment to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the sciences by January 1st, 2023. Background Screening
