Full Job Description

Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Bank USA in Menlo Park, CA. Work daily with the product owner and the development teams in an agile scrum setting to prioritize and deliver business requirements for Consumer Cards Data Warehouse and reporting systems. Responsible for end-to-end systems development cycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, maintenance, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of these analytics applications. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, tech teams, and external vendors to understand key performance metrics and review technical specifications.

Work closely with business analysts and functional leaders to understand the desired output of reports and dashboards and come up with the technical designs to implement. Write and manage software primarily to support ETL (Extract Transform Load) functionality for loading data to a data warehouse allowing business analysts and functional leaders to action business decisions based on that data.

Utilize big data technologies to extract data from internal and external data sources, create models and extracts in Consumer Cards Data Warehouse platform to be leveraged for firmwide use. Write software using Java, Python, Hadoop, and Spark to automate data ingestion and data processing into the Analytic Data Warehouse. Write scripts and automated tests to ensure data quality and functional integrity. Design solutions to fix scalability and performance problems and then implement them. Applicant may work remotely.

Job Requirements

Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

Two (2) years of experience with a Master’s degree or five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in the job offered or in a related position.

Two (2) years of prior work experience with a Master’s degree or five (5) years of prior work experience with a Bachelor’s with: performing extract transfer and load (ETL) design and development; designing and developing data ingestion and transformation workflows leveraging the ETL software; designing and developing software to support large data processing for Big Data warehouse and distributed computing leveraging HDFS and Apache Spark; designing and developing Unix shell scripting; and performing end-to-end systems development cycle from requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, maintenance, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of these analytics applications leveraging agile methodology.
