Department Overview
Clinical Support Associate/Nursing Assistants support patient care in a variety of our different units (based on what unit(s) have openings). As a Clinical Support Associate/Nursing Assistant, you will provide patient care and support to various ages of children, from newborns through young adulthood, including but not limited to acute medical/surgical, hematology/oncology, critical care, and emergency patients. We provide opportunities to grow and make a difference for children and their families every day. As a Clinical Support Associate/Nursing Assistant you will play a vital role in Children’s national recognition for patient safety and family-centered care; the patient care leadership is dedicated to the growth and development of each of its team members.

Position Summary
Clinical Support Associate/Nursing Assistants are key members of the patient care team and will provide safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff based on the unit needs; you will also maintain equipment and supplies per unit standards. Many of our Clinical Support Associate/Nursing Assistants are nursing students pursuing an Associates or BSN degree. This role offers practical hands-on experience supporting patients and families.
Qualifications:
Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience or completed a nursing or health care-related clinical Practicum course. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Must be willing and able to work night shifts beginning at 11pm.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills required.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position.
- Skills in basic computer operation.
