Job Description
- Answer telephone and direct to appropriate student rooms
- Provide customer service responsibilities and resolve student concerns
- Promote residence activities to the students
- Give tours of the facilities
- Prepare forms, lists, and spreadsheets as required
- Address community standards violations (noise complaints etc.)
- Supervise Resident Advisors while on rounds
- Respond to students in crisis and involving campus security when necessary
- Participate in required safety and professional training
- On occasion, communicating with campus Security and/or emergency services when dealing with extraordinary situations
- Documenting community standards violations and other student interactions using the residence’s digital reporting system
- Communicating with the residence life team regarding student concerns
- Ensure all students are following the residence guest policy
- Report all maintenance issues to the maintenance and custodial supervisor
- Accept work orders submitted by students
- Collect and Dispense student mail
- Be a first point of contact for contractors and other services
- Greet students in a friendly manner
- Participate in the Tri-Annual cleaning and preparation of residence rooms for new students
- This position is to replace a full-time position working steady midnight shifts
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager
Qualifications
- 2 – 3 years of related experience
- Ability to speak in Mandarin or Hindi an asset; English is required
- Ability to be thorough, accurate, and have a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify key information and issues, and effectively resolve issues.
- Ability to work independently and without a high level of supervision and direction.
- Understanding of, and ability to demonstrate, the principles of confidentiality
- Ability to empathize and actively listen to students
