The Role

The Manufacturing Distillation Technician will install and maintain distillations. Install glassware, run and bend EPSS and PFA piping, pumps, chillers, valves as needed. Handle chemicals for cleaning and operating distillations. Chemical fill, material handling, and sampling duties, as assigned. Perform other duties and assist in other departments, as assigned.

Key responsibilities for this role include:


  • Under the direction of Engineering; work in safe manner and in compliance with safety, environmental policies.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair distillation glassware, EPS piping, PFA tubing, valves, pumps, chillers, and other equipment as required.
  • Work safely with hazardous chemicals, to aid in troubleshooting/repair. Safely perform line breaks and make equipment safe for further maintenance
  • Samples and particle count products.
  • Follow process requirements to identify problems, obtain parts, document findings, capture repair history.
  • Use and maintain hand tools, power hand tools, and power equipment. Read, understand and apply information from maintenance manuals and troubleshooting guides.
  • Obtains forklift certification and perform material handling operations as assigned.
  • Communicate with contractors and maintenance and work collaboratively to ensure equipment performs as intended.
  • Operates manual and automated equipment in support of job functions.
  • Communicates equipment status and outages to supervision, as needed for correct and safe operation.
  • Maintains job associated certifications. Maintain EHS and other facility training to current status.
  • Assists with operational, quality, and safety reviews as assigned.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and work in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 10-15 years chemical handling and/or experience in operations maintenance or equivalent experience; high purity chemical, pharmaceutical, or military experience preferred.
  • Previous or current maintenance experience a plus.
  • Must be fully qualified in at least one basic task certification within 3 months of hire and fully qualified and at three other certifications within 6 months of hire.
  • Good computer skills to include Microsoft Office- Excel, and Word. SAP experience a plus.
  • Ability to work varied shifts to include 1st, 2nd, and 3rdshifts, including weekends
  • Experience in operating a forklift and other manufacturing

  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
