Position Information

• Minimum starting rate of $18.00 per hour
• Casual, as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation to those who require the NEMT service
• Good customer service
• Provide door-to-door service
• Safely load and unload clients in wheelchairs
• Working within the guidelines set out for Non-Emergent Medical Transport Drivers

Skill and Knowledge

• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Able to use good judgment and work collaboratively
• Ability to familiarize and engage with clients using the service
• Strong understanding and application of APL’s core values in their daily practice at work

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

• Work is physically demanding with the following requirements;
• Pushing/Pulling loads up to 90kg
• Walking on uneven ground
• Standing/kneeling
• Sitting for extended periods of time
• Reaching above shoulder height
• Working shifts that include evenings, weekends, holidays

Qualifications

• Valid Class 4 driver’s license & a 3-year history driver’s abstract
• Clean criminal & vulnerable sector record
