The Production Manager will oversee Production Operations for a 24-hr. injection molding operation. Responsibilities will include the execution of a production schedule through the efficient management of Mold Set-Up, Material Handling, and Processing. This position will work collaboratively with multiple departmental and plant disciplines to execute production with emphasis on quality, delivery, efficiency while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This position requires a systems approach with an emphasis on Lean and Six Sigma methodology to deliver value as defined by our customer. This position will also have additional responsibilities to uphold and maintain a rigorous quality system which include, mold trials, validation activity, process audits, and continuous improvement projects
*SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 *
Oversees and manage a staff of Team Leaders, Process Technicians, and Mold Setters.

Promote a collaborative, efficient, and safe working environment

Interfaces with Human Resources to coordinate staffing, training, and disciplinary action.

Coordinates Daily Machine Assignments.

Performs Performance Reviews/Level Recommendations for Direct Reports.

Housekeeping/Organization process implementation and support

Coordinates applicable secondary and sorting/rework in the area.

Machine utilization goals

Production Efficiency Metrics.

Quality & Delivery Performance Metrics.

Component Quality Inspections.

Responsible for all plant operations in the absence of the Plant Manager.

Develop and execute departmental goals aimed at productivity and safety

Performs other related duties as assigned.

*SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 *
A minimum of 5 years’ experience supervising a Production Team and Quality Assurance Department preferred.
Must also be able to deal effectively and professionally with team members.

Analytical problem solving and decision making

Efficient utilization of available workforce and manufacturing floor space

Ability to create and drive change and effectively communicate throughout the organization

Strong knowledge in troubleshooting injection molds and injection molding processes.

Process capability, troubleshooting, SPC, and robotics.

Able to effectively lead a cross-function/departmental internal team.

Excellent external/internal customer and presentation skills to all levels of customer organizations.

Strong multiple project management skills.

Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment characterized by high growth.

*QUALIFICATIONS:
 *
Minimum associate degree in engineering or technical field or equivalent experience required.

Proven record for Continuous Improvement

Experienced in Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing

Strong leadership history in Manufacturing and Engineering environments

Leadership, motivation, and coaching skills to develop self-directed teams and build culture

Computer and Blueprint reading skills a plus.
