Full Job Description
We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Security Officer.
Reporting to the Security Supervisor, the Security Officer is responsible for the safety and protection of our employees and guests while protecting company property and assets. The Security Officer is a self-starter who takes initiative, displays problem-solving and decision-making abilities, has excellent organizational skills, and can maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast-paced and changing work environment. The Security Officer possesses strong interpersonal skills and a sense of urgency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control employee and visitor access points to facility;
- Monitor video surveillance cameras and access control points using provided PC software;
- Assist with security audits;
- Perform interior and exterior facility patrols;
- Observe, investigate and report any irregular activities/incidents;
- Write comprehensive reports and maintain routine logs;
- Assist the Security Supervisor as required;
- Other duties as may be required.
Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in security; other skills may be considered;
- High level of honesty and integrity;
- Excellent attendance and safety record;
- Trouble shooting and problem-solving skills;
- Sound judgement and interpersonal skills;
- Proficiency in MS Office;
- Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams both independently and as part of a team;
- Strong customer service and communication skill, both written and oral;
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, and weekends.
