Full Job Description

Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Track Maintenance, to ensure GO Transit track structure, equipment and rights-of-way are maintained in a safe and effective manner. Carrying out the remedial/preventive maintenance, inspection, and welding of GO Transit’s track and rights-of-way.

What will I be doing?

• Repairs track components by welding and grinding.
• Installs and replaces track components.
• Corrects and repairs surface and alignment of track.
• Controls snow and ice at turnouts and crossings.
• Operates and maintains on-track equipment.
• Inspects all track structure and reports defects.
• Maintains rights-of-way and signs.
• Prepares records for the Supervisor in respect of inspections, work accomplished, deficiencies noted, vehicle, equipment, and material usage.
• Operates and maintains assigned vehicles, equipment, and tools safely and in a clean and serviceable condition, and maintains logs relative to their serviceability.
• Provides guidance to new employees.
