The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has provided N100,000 loans to 38 young individuals in Kogi State to support sustainable agricultural development initiatives.
These loans are specifically designated for four agricultural schemes:
- Graduate Agricultural Enhancement
- Community Based Agricultural Empowerment
- Sustainable Agricultural Development, and
- Agricultural Enhancement
All managed under the Rural Employment Promotion Department of NDE in Kogi State.
Additionally, 100 unemployed youths received training in sustainable agricultural development as part of the program.
The Director General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, emphasized the significance of agriculture in creating substantial employment opportunities for Nigerian youths.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Buhari administration to address unemployment by implementing programs that foster youth employment.
During the program’s launch in Lokoja, the state coordinator, Mallam Abubakar Zakari, represented the Director General.
Mallam Shuaibu Omeiza, the Head of Rural Employment Promotion, highlighted that the training aimed to equip participants with essential skills in crop production, livestock farming, food processing, and packaging.
Mrs. Ann Ita, the program facilitator from NDE headquarters in Abuja, encouraged participants to seize the opportunity to positively transform their lives.
In response, Mallam Alhassan Dangana expressed gratitude to NDE and the federal government for the training opportunity, pledging to utilize the knowledge gained effectively.
