About OAU
The full meaning of OAU is Obafemi Awolowo University. Initially, it was called the University of Ile-Ife, and it is located in Osun State, Nigeria. The school was established in 1961, but lectures started in 1962.
The school was led by late Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola, not until it was renamed as Obafemi Awolowo University on May 12, 1987, to pay tribute to the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
