Vendease is a fast-moving consumer goods e-procurement platform for B2B clients in Nigeria, with a mission to ensure hotels & restaurants are free to focus on catering for their customers. We take the problem of food supply-availability and quality off restaurant owners, so that they can focus on serving their customers. As an online marketplace, we give restaurants the opportunity to buy everything they need remotely and seamlessly from anywhere in the world.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Category Manager

Location: Lagos

• Category Manager – Beverages
• Category Manager – Dry Goods
• Category Manager – Processed Goods

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for the development, implementation, management, and performance of sourcing strategies within a given Category, to meet business goals and objectives
• Ability to analyse and develop accurate conclusions to support category decisions based on key data
• An understanding of the market and consumer insights and trends
• Strong people management and persuasion skills to manage and influence at all levels of the company
• Researches and benchmarks current commodity market conditions/trends, developing technologies, supply chain capacity/capability, product knowledge, customer requirements and supply/demand challenges.
• Commercial Awareness; ability to negotiate commercially successful deals with suppliers
• Demand forecasting and planning skills
• Driving for Results: Setting high goals for personal and group accomplishment; using measurement methods to monitor progress toward goals; tenaciously working to meet or exceed goals while deriving satisfaction from that achievement and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Category Manager.
• 5+ Years relevant experience
• Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement.
• Familiarity with vendor management and relevant software.
• Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships.
• Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data.
• Solid judgement with the ability to make good decisions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Slack , etc.
