Description:
The Lead Bakery Outlet Clerk is responsible for any number of clerical tasks such as keeping records, reconciling funds, and scheduling & coordinating all activities of the Outlet Clerks selling of a variety of baked goods and products in our Outlet Stores. Follows all safety procedures as set forth by the Company.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- You are focused on all aspects of customer service, leading and coordinating tasks for a small staff.
- You will be responsible for daily cash deposits, daily reciliation and deposits, and a weekly pick-up of cash deposits from outside vendors. Operate the cash register effectively and handle cash within company policy. Enters and maintains records of customer purchases and prepares status reports using cash registers and/or computer systems. Handles cash and product, as well as assumes responsibility for various customer service activities, store presentation, cash, and key controls.
- You will be responsible for coordinating the scheduling and tasks of the Outlet Clerks to ensure overhead labor budget is met. Interview/Hire prospective new associates, if applicable. Train and communicate all company initiatives to the Outlet Clerks. Process weekly payroll of Outlet Clerks, if applicable. Responsible for participating in team meetings and trainings. React to all store needs promptly and with a sense of urgency.
- You understand product availability. Ensuring stock levels on the sales floor are always maintained by pulling product from back stock, and stocking onto the shelf in its assigned place. Maintain product merchandising standards, pricing, signage, and coding on the sales floor. Receive and account for new product. Prepare for and participate in counting store inventory. Responsible for checking in route returns and auditing sales routes. Completes all required paperwork timely and keeps track of records in an organized manner.
- You will assists outside vendors, sales representatives, and internal departments with outlet transactions as required.
- You will maintain a clean, neat work area to ensure store exceeds all cleanliness standards, including parking lots, carts, and trash areas.
- You will maintain a safe working environment for customers and fellow associates, while following all safety rules and procedures.
- You will be responsible for seeking out and developing sites for donations, maintaining all policies surrounding product donations.
- You will assist with stocking and removing outdated product to/from shelves according to our merchandising standards. Perform store cleaning regularly to ensure store exceeds all cleanliness standards. Ensure that carts and baskets are always neat and in order.
- You are responsible for making sure service goals and standards are being maintained.
- Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervisor.
Key Behavioral Competencies:
- You have a strong analytical ability to gather and interpret data, in situations where the problems are somewhat complex (dealing with people, procedures, and equipment).
- You work well in a team-based environment, have solid interpersonal skills, and you are not averse to change.
- You must be able to perform basic math and computer skills; SAP, Oracle, CPD preferred.
- You act with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset: focus on improving efficiencies while decreasing waste.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- 1-3 Years of prior in retail sales preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work around various chemicals and food machinery equipment.
- You must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, stack/unstack or carry, stand and/or stoop for prolonged periods of time (except for break and lunch periods), climb, perform repetitive motions, and work in a loud and hot environment.
- You must have good written and oral English language communication skills.
- Ability to work 8+ hour shifts, irregular and/or rotating shifts, including split days off (non-consecutive days off) and work holidays and weekends (frequently required).
