We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, AB.

Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of this role is to manage and conduct pit dewatering activites in the open pit, plan and execute shovel moves, assist with drill and blast activites. When required, operate small equipment such as excavators, articulated rock trucks, loaders and water trucks.

We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.

Accountabilities:

  • Comply with Newcrest Red Chris JV standards, policies, and the Health, Safety, Reclamation Code for Mines in Birtish Columbia
  • Balance workload and make decisions in consultation with other stakeholders to achieve safe production outcomes
  • Undertake specific tasks as directed by the Open Pit Supervisor
  • Utilise risk management tools (JSEA or FLHA) and critical control management tools (OCCC)
  • Promote and maintain a culture of ‘safe production’ by compliance with company safety systems, policies, procedures, accountabilities, standards and Mine Operations New Safe Behaviours

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 2-4 years experience in open pit mining
  • Experience with electric mining equipment
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence
  • Knowledge of mine dewatering systems
  • Mine Rescue and First Aid ticket is considered a asset
  • Experience in small equipment, excavators, backhoe, telehandler, loader
