What You’ll Do
The PLC Integration Specialist’s role is to install, commission, and test PLC-controlled equipment at customer sites. You will work side by side with electrical technicians to bring up control cabinets, load and configure PLC software, and execute tests to confirm functionality and performance.
In This Role
- 100% remote & travel role to customer sites across the US.
- Commission PLC controllers and configure for customer site. (Programmable Logic Controllers)
- Commission HMI and connect with PLCs.
- Load Symbotic software, verify implementation, and execute commissioning tests.
- Assist with system integration tests.
- Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
- Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization
What You’ll Need
- Experience in PLC programming in a professional environment
- Knowledge in several of the following specialties:
- PLC (Rockwell Automation, PLCs, HMI, Allen Bradley, Siemens)
- Robot (ABB, Fanuc)
- Industrial Network (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet)
- Interface Operator (Panel View Plus)
- Skills to read electrical drawings
- Experience with motion control equipment such as VFDs.
- Understand how to debug and support via Remote Desktop, SSH, browser, etc.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate verbally or in writing with in a professional and friendly manner.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Physical Requirements
- Remote, field-based position
- Required to travel domestic and potentially international: employee must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. Must have credit card for expenses (reimbursed). Our main office is in Wilmington, MA. The person taking this position will be required to perform work at our customer installation locations for extended periods of time where equipment is installed and ready for commissioning. We expect the travel to be up to 75%-100% of the time.
- The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms
- The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches: to stand, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation: lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols
Work Environment
- Approximately 85% of time will be spent on a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness)
- There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure
- You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground
- Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
