Position: Shop Technician

Location: St. John’s, Newfoundland

We are an integral part of the expanding oil and gas business in Atlantic Canada through office in St. John’s & Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. We’re seeking an enthusiastic individual who wishes to join our Newfoundland team and contribute to our success. This position will be based in St. John’s, NL.

We are seeking a self-motivated individual with excellent organization and communication skills. This position will support the oil and gas development and exploration for offshore Newfoundland working for multiple clients. This position will be responsible for the on-time delivery of equipment as per operational demands. A successful candidate with training, if required, will develop the required skills for our Shop Technician position.

In your position with Schlumberger, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining assigned equipment according to its maintenance program
  • Perform troubleshooting activities to diagnose product, process or program defects and complete required repairs
  • Hydrostatic and gas pressure testing as required
  • Complete paperwork as required such as job packets, work orders, and bills of material
  • Use of forklift and overhead crane – training provided
  • Participate in the continuous improvement culture, initiatives, and improvement plans to improve asset utilization, turnaround, and reduce downtime due to maintenance
  • Participate in failure investigations as assigned
  • Perform technical duties and generalized labor
  • Follow and uphold all Schlumberger QHSE Standards and promote their respect, understanding and adherence
  • Monday- Friday + overtime as required

You will have a minimum of:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency (GED)
  • Heavy Industry Experience is an asset
  • Proficient in computer use
  • On the job training provided
