We are looking for a Facilities Manager to join our team in the US!

In this role, you will be responsible for the security, maintenance, and services of our offices across the Americas, to ensure that they meet the needs of BSI and our employees. You will also be responsible for supporting the BSI office and facility strategy, as well as the Americas budget and strategy. As BSI’s offices in the Americas are leased, most of the hands-on facilities work will be handled by building management, leaving you free to focus on the strategic and stakeholder facing elements of the role.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Space management; plan the facility’s upcoming needs and requirements, managing the departments forecast and budget.
  • Office/Facility strategy: Help with office relocations/consolidations. Drive strategy for AMAS facilities footprint.
  • Develop or assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Contract management: Sourcing and overseeing contracts and service providers for functions such as catering, cleaning, parking, security, and technology.
  • Support all onsite Facilities projects as required: Overseeing any renovations, refurbishments, and building projects.
  • Direct HSE responsibility for both Herndon and BSI Canada offices, including HSE coordinator role. Implement and ensure compliance to policies. Regional oversight of facilities HSE requirements. Act as facilities member for the HSE safety committee.
  • Be owner of Business Continuity Plan, Emergency Preparedness and Response Procedures, and BSI Alerts System for USA Herndon and Canada Toronto offices, including testing and training of first aiders and fire wardens.

About You

  • Ability to effectively respond to and interact with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and oversee facilities-related budget execution requirements.
  • Understanding of OSHA standards and SDS regulation.
  • Ability to provide a variety of facility project management services support to client facility occupants.
  • Ability to provide guidance on a range of facilities project issues, including consideration of risk and impact on client-owned and leased facilities and infrastructure.
  • Experience with managing the operational tracking of all client space allocations, track quarterly space data trends, prepare financial data based on space allocation, and maintain a drawing and database repository depicting component space allocations and associated costs.
  • Ability to update and maintain documentation in direct support of client facilities.
