Duties
- Assist physician with various examinations and diagnostic procedures.
- Schedule specialty clinic appointments for patients.
- Maintain clinic files in accordance with agency regulations and guidelines.
- Receive telephone calls and/or walk-in patients to determine the nature of the call or visit.

- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency-type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Incumbent is required to be screened for applicable immunizations and subject to missing/required immunizations IAW AR 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- This position has been designated Weather Essential. In the event of inclement weather conditions, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an “on call” basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening and random testing thereafter, including testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position has a lifting requirement of up to 40lbs.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing clerical support within a medical treatment facility (MTF) or clinic; scheduling medical appointments for patients; screening, triaging, and taking vital signs for assigned patients. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree with a major study or at least 24 semesters hours in subjects directly related to the position such as Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Health Technician, Health Science, or Health Services. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
