Job Description:

What is the job/role?

An Account Sales Engineer technical pre-sales support of the Symantec Security portfolio. Key activities include customer presentations, product demonstrations, product health checks, proof-of-value engagements, RFP/I responses, and best practices discussions.

What Will You be Doing?

• Working closely with Broadcom sales teams to identify and remove technical barriers needed to achieve customer goals and Symantec sales outcomes.
• Differentiating and positioning Symantec technical product features, functions, and best practices via presentations, demos, POVs & health checks to influence customer purchase and renewal decisions
• Driving customer success by partnering with a number of internal and external organizations, including technical support teams, product management teams, sales teams, partners, and more.
• Training Broadcom sales teams on specific value propositions, competitive differentiation, and best practices to help them position Symantec solutions

What Are We Looking for?

• Technical expertise across one or more Symantec product families: information protection, network security, email security & endpoint protection
• Ability to design, deploy, configure and tune these solutions to meet large customer (Fortune 1000) use cases – primarily in a “proof of value” pre-sales context.
• Previous pre-sales Systems Engineering or professional services consulting experience with enterprise products preferred
• Ability to co-manage large, complex technical projects involving a combination of best practices, enterprise software, and hardware solutions across a number of disparate departments. Aptitude to effectively identify and track deliverables necessary to drive joint initiatives and build relationships with key customer and internal personnel
• Strong ability to effectively link technology solutions to business needs.
• Ability to relate to a wide range of technical staff and executives in customer environments
• A “solutions mindset” that demonstrates technical competence but is open to multiple points of view for how Symantec products fit into an overall security program.
• Technical knowledge of cloud architectures and use cases (e.g., AWS, Azure & GCP)
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
• Presentation and writing skills
• Bachelor’s degree in I.T., Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent + 8 years of related experience
• Demonstrable experience in systems administration, pre-sales, or related field
• Ability to present a professional appearance and demeanor
• English language fluency
• Programming/scripting experience is a plus
• Industry security certifications (CISSP, CCSK, etc.) and Symantec certifications (DLP SCS & CloudSOC SCS) are a plus
