Role Overview
Job Overview and Responsibilities:
Solvay is looking for a motivated Treasury Operations Specialist North America with international experience in treasury operations and cash management to provide expertise and support in the tactical execution of treasury management activities (cash management & banking, payments execution, and risk management).
Added focus on incorporating automation and efficiency gains through the implementation of Treasury Management System (FIS Quantum), continuous improvement in our operational processes, and delivering exceptional cross-functional and cross-departmental customer service.
This position will report to the TSU (Treasury Service Unit) Manager. TSU belongs to SBS organization. It is a global organization, and the team is mainly located in Portugal, USA, Thailand, and Brazil.
As a TSU Operations Specialist NAM, you will be involved in the following activities:
- Solvay In-House Bank (IHB) management
- Payment and Collection activities on behalf of Solvay affiliates
- Maintenance and continued expansion of payment factory and A/R internal factoring
- Provide technical and functional support to the Group entities regarding IHB questions
- Internal bank accounts follow up, including interests calculation
- Cash & forex management
- Cash release to banks requested by Corporate Treasury and other departments (A/P, HR…)
- Ensure trades are successfully instructed and acknowledged, i.e., authorize, record, confirm trade and settlement instructions, and reconcile trades
- Bank accounts administration
- Implementation of cash concentration, pooling structures following liquidity optimization schemes defined by International Treasury
- Preserve optimized banks and accounts landscape, identifying and deploying rationalization opportunities in the North America, when appropriate
- Provide operational support for Treasury systems and banking portals (connectivity, user security profiles, etc.). Update POAs and signatories.
- Review fees statements & follow up of fees discrepancies with contracts
- Other responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date and enhance the Group Treasury Operating Manual, Standard Operating Procedures & Business Continuity Plan relative to the activities under responsibility
- Implement and follow-up internal controls
- Report Treasury performance
- Key role in Projects delivery (Treasury Management System, M&A activities, digitalization, credit cards, leasing…)
Education and Experience:
- Master degree in Finance/Business Administration;
- 7 to 10 years’ experience in treasury operations with a large Corporate or within a banking environment;
Skills:
- Solid understanding of international business involving multi-currency transactions, and familiarity with the requirements and complexities of global payments transactions.
- Awareness and interest in banking technologies (Swift, Digital, new payment types…)
- Fluent in English, other languages (Portuguese, French…) are considered as an advantage ;
- Highly analytical with critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Process-driven, organized, and produces results within defined deadlines. Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as global team member.
- Expert-level skills in Microsoft Suites. Strong knowledge of SAP, Treasury Management Systems, Bank Account Management tools, Payment platforms, and Swift environment.
