Aramark Canada is hiring for a full-time Scheduling Supervisor to join Memorial University in St. John’s, NL. team. Great compensation package and a great opportunity to join our dining services team!


Aramark Canada is seeking a full-time Scheduling Supervisor to join the Memorial University, St. John’s, Newfoundland, and Labrador! This position will report to the Food Service Director and will be responsible for overseeing the Memorial Dining Services employee schedules. This is a one-year Maternity Leave replacement with the possibility of leading to a permanent position with the Memorial Dining Services team. This role will start in mid-August and required early morning, evening/weekend/holiday work. The hourly wage for this role is $20. Job Responsibilities

  • Create weekly employee schedules
  • Input and verify weekly payroll
  • Meet daily with Residence and Retail Managers to discuss operational and staffing concerns
  • Replace/fill daily sick calls and vacancies
  • Assist Managers in recruitment and selection process (job postings, screening of resumes, interview process and reference checks)
  • Assist Managers in onboarding new employees, facilitating orientation, and providing training when required
  • Verify and manage employee sick time, annual leave, etc.
  • Assist Managers in Managers in resolving union grievances
  • Participate in labor-management meetings and collective agreement bargaining

Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience in a supervisory role with scheduling and human resource responsibilities required
  • Post-Secondary Education with a focus on Hospitality Management, Human Resources, or Business Management considered an asset
  • Experience working in a union environment and/or knowledge of Collective Agreements and their application in the workplace
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Ability to manage people and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours as early mornings and some evenings, and weekends/holidays may be required
