Full Job Description
Under the direction of the Culinary Arts Manager, Assistant Chefs will work together to prepare culturally authentic food for the campers.
Also will assume full kitchen responsibilities in the absence of the Village Chef; may be asked to assist Village Chef with all management duties of the kitchen, including inventory, ordering, menu planning, scheduling, and kitchen staff supervision.

You Will:
- Prepare culturally appropriate ethnic recipes
- Assist the Village Chef with planning menus in conjunction with the dean one week in advance of a planned meal
- Assist Village Chef with budget and purchasing food supplies as needed in accordance with guidelines set by Concordia Language Villages
- Prepare and serve meals with the assistance of the other kitchen staff
- Supervise and mentor and provide feedback to kitchen staff
- Uphold and enforce sanitary requirements in the kitchen in keeping with state regulations for health and safety.

Minimum Qualifications
You Have:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Culinary-related major or minor, or equivalent experience
- Experience with planning menus and ordering supplies
- Knowledge of sanitation practices and procedures
- Interest in preparing ethnic foods

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with quantity cooking at a camp, resort, or public or private institution
- Oral proficiency in the target language
- Previous Concordia Language Villages or camping experience
